Blue Hawaii Surf

Blue Hawaii LifeStyle is not founder Michael Zhang’s first venture into the lifestyle market. He is also the owner of our sister store, Blue Hawaii Surf. BHS was created in 1984 by world renown surfboard shaper Glenn Minami. In 1997 Minami sold BHS to Zhang. Working closely with a staff of veterans from the retail surf industry, Zhang and his team transformed the BHS concept from that of a surf store to one focusing on the skate and surf lifestyle, bringing a much needed and vitalizing change to the surf and skate retail scene. One example of this is BHS’s 84 Skate, a skate brand and professional team that was conceived of by BHS staff member Kevin McCary. Today, 84 Skate is the most popular skate brand in the State of Hawaii.

Today BHS is a place where you can find the latest in surf, skate, music, and art inspired fashion, accessories, and hardgoods. The company’s overall flavor is a reflection of all of the individuals that make up the Blue Hawaii family.
